Dr. Leavy is a clinical psychologist with interests in substance abuse, mental illness, and prevention. He is also interested in work stress and its effects. He has assisted area mental health and substance abuse treatment agencies with program evaluation efforts. He is the director of Ohio Wesleyan’s Academic Skills Center, a part of the Sagan Academic Resource Center where advanced psychology students under his supervision provide one-on-one help to fellow students. He teaches courses in abnormal psychology, organizational behavior, and community psychology as well as introductory psychology. He offers a tutorial for honors students entitled “Alcohol Abuse: Extent, Origins, Treatment, and Prevention.”
